Did you know? | Books that haunt the shelves 🧡

As the weather cools and we curl up with our favorite reads, millions of other books sit quietly on shelves — waiting to be opened.
Annually, traditional publishing in the U.S. produces ~500,000-1,000,000 new titles.
Each one takes ~2–3 pounds of wood and 2+ gallons of water to produce, not to mention the ink, energy, and shipping miles behind it.
Over 30% of printed books go unsold or unread.
It’s a gentle reminder that even our most beloved objects — stories, paper, knowledge — have their own footprints. This fall, before adding something new to your shelf, consider revisiting an old favorite, lending an entertaining story, or sharing a book that’s been gathering dust. The most magical stories might be the ones already in your home. 🪄
